This Service Agreement is the contract between you ("User," "you") and NameHippo ("we," "us") that governs your use of your NameHippo account. It supplements the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy.
1. Account creation
By registering, you confirm:
- The information you provide is accurate and current.
- You're at least 18 years old and legally capable of contracting.
- You're not on a sanctions list or in a sanctioned jurisdiction.
- You will keep your login credentials secure and not share them.
2. Account responsibilities
You are responsible for all activity on your account. Notify [email protected] immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. Enable two-factor authentication when available.
3. Communications
By creating an account you consent to receive transactional emails (purchase confirmations, transfer notifications, security alerts). Marketing emails are opt-in only and you can unsubscribe at any time.
4. Buyer obligations
- Pay the agreed price plus any applicable taxes.
- Provide accurate registrar account details for the domain transfer.
- Confirm receipt of the domain in good faith within the escrow inspection window.
- Not chargeback fraudulently after a successful transfer.
5. Account suspension
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in fraud, or fail to complete a transaction. Pending escrow transactions are handled per the escrow provider's rules — typically funds are returned to the buyer if the seller is at fault, and held pending dispute resolution otherwise.
6. Account closure
You can close your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. We retain transactional records as required by tax and audit law (typically 7 years), but personal contact details and marketing data are removed within 30 days of closure.
7. Modifications
We may update this Service Agreement. Material changes are emailed to your account address at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
